Worship Services at Christ Church

SUNDAYS:

Note:   We love having children at all of our services!  The squirming and laughter of children is a joy.  We also know that sometimes children are just not in the right mood… and/or parents need a little break.   So, there are children’s coloring materials in the church.  And child care is available in the administration building from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.  (Our child care is provided by a provider trained in first aid and CPR.  Parents receive a pager so that they may be contacted should a need arise.)

7:45 a.m. - Holy Eucharist/Rite I (spoken service in the language of the King James Bible)

9:15  a.m. - Holy Eucharist/Rite II (a service in contemporary English with music comprising a mix of contemporary Christian, Gospel, and hymns.  Children serve as acolytes at this service, and the sermon is adjusted to include the children and youth present.  (Sunday School for all ages begins following this service.)

10:45 a.m. - Holy Eucharist/Rite II (a sung service in contemporary English with music in the classical tradition with hymns and choir anthems.)
Note
: during the seasons of Advent and Lent this service uses Rite I, with English in the tradition of the King James Bible.

4:00 p.m. - Candlelight Vespers (a contemplative service of Evening Prayer in the Taizé tradition, with “prayer around the Cross” and Taizé chants in a church illumined with candles.
Note:
on the first Sunday of each month, Candlelight Vespers includes Holy Communion and anointing with oil for healing.

THURSDAYS:

7:00 p.m. - Evening Prayer (a spoken service out of Anglican tradition in our beautiful candlelit church.  A few minutes of contemplative silence with Gregorian chant precede and close each service.  A wonderful way to shift from a busy day into the peace of Christ at evening.
